Hello- Welcome to Nursery! We are part of the Foundation Unit at St. Sidwell’s and work collaboratively with the staff in Reception (Mrs. Hallet and Mrs. Lockyear).
The Nursery staff are Mrs. Foy, class teacher and Miss Enticott, nursery practitioner. Our aims are to inspire a love of learning by going on lots of adventures to discover new things. We encourage our children to be curious, explore and ask lots of questions!
We actively encourage parents to support and celebrate their child's development and learning. We share songs, poems and things we have learned with parents through Seesaw and Class Dojo. We also have a number of community afternoons arranged throughout the year where parents are invited. We enjoy weekly Welly Time sessions to help children to have mini adventures and believe going on trips outside of class is vital to give children a wider, shared experience of the world.
The children do most of their learning through play with activities carefully planned to help promote their physical, communication and language and personal, social and emotional development.
We work hard as a staff to model and recognise the school values of trust, collaboration, respect, love, curiosity and courage. Each value is reflected in the children's daily adventures and we are proud of the enthusiasm that is generated in the children as they eagerly plan their learning adventures each day.
