Welcome to
St Sidwell's Church of England Primary and Nursery School
St. Sidwell’s CE Primary School and Nursery is a one-form entry Church of England Primary school, in the heart of Exeter. It caters for children from age 3 to age 11.
Year 3 had a great afternoon, and evening, performing their dance routine at the Barnfield Theatre. They have been working hard for the past half term with Miss Perret from @PEG_Exe and were brave, confident and absolute superstars! 🤩 #findingthelight @stchris_trust— St. Sidwell's C of E (@stsidwellsce) Nov 24, 2025

On their welly walk this week, Nursery searched for signs that the temperature had dropped. They found ice all over the school and talked about it being frozen water. ❄️🧊 #findingthelight #flourishingcommunities @stchris_trust— St. Sidwell's C of E (@stsidwellsce) Nov 21, 2025

In maths today, Year 3 used counters to create arrays. The children really enjoyed it, especially when they were allowed to write their calculations on the table. 🧮 #findingthelight #flourishingcommunties @stchris_trust pic.twitter.com/8zRTkSAqot— St. Sidwell's C of E (@stsidwellsce) November 18, 2025

Nursery have been diving into their new traditional tale ‘The Gingerbread Man’.
Lots of the children used puppets to retell the story to each other & then this afternoon they made ‘gloop’ - a mixture of cornflour & water to make a substance that can be both gooey & hard! 🤩— St. Sidwell's C of E (@stsidwellsce) Nov 18, 2025

Yesterday, in Welly Time, Reception used their sense of touch. They selected softer things to make nests for their hedgehog and squirrel to hibernate in. 🦔🐿️ #findingthelight #flourishingcommunities @stchris_trust pic.twitter.com/HKXtnhLrzs— St. Sidwell's C of E (@stsidwellsce) November 18, 2025

In our maths lessons the children always get some independent learning time. Here are some examples of the sorts of things Year 1 have been choosing to do during this time. #findingthelight #flourishingcommunities @stchris_trust— St. Sidwell's C of E (@stsidwellsce) Nov 18, 2025

This week, Year 2 thought carefully about the good news that Christians believe Jesus brought - especially how this relates to peace. They thought about peaceful places before making these Monet inspired water lily ponds. #findingthelight #flourishingcommunities @stchris_trust pic.twitter.com/D0DxCB3oON— St. Sidwell's C of E (@stsidwellsce) November 14, 2025
